Tennis, Teamship & Charity ! It must be the 4th Annual Craic Cup Tennis Tournament !

Tennis2Be hosted its flagship event, the 4th Annual Craic Cup tournament on Saturday 17th June 2017 supported by London Youth at The National Tennis Centre, (a 40 million pound state of the art venue with 22 courts, and where you can often bump into top professional players), based in Roehampton.

Tennis2Be is a not-for-profit UK charity, striving towards equality in tennis. They are deeply committed to ensuring tennis is enjoyed by a broad spectrum of participants, including disabled and special needs’ players. Through interaction with local communities, grassroots groups and local partners, Tennis2Be emphasises the positive points of involvement from the perspective of wellbeing and social engagement. The love for the Irish was evident with the Director of Tennis2Be addressing attendees partly in Irish after adding Gaeilge to her linguistic skills which are also sprinkled during the regular childrens tennis lessons to further the language.

The Craic Cup is their annual flagship event and is open to all ages (3-85 years!). All levels of tennis players are invited with those welcomed including children, disabled players, young people as well as adults. Nearly 100 players including children, young people and adults participated in the most successful Craic Cup to date. Players are able to choose from 6 levels of proficiency to ensure everyone is included and can truly have a sense to the joy of tennis at this relaxed and very 19th hole event. The tournament runs throughout the day with regular intervals for socialising and having a picnic lunch in the gardens.
